DISTINGUISHED CITIZENS AWARDS

The Greater Hermiston Chamber of Commerce's annual Distinguished Citizens Awards honors special citizens in the following categories: Man of the Year, Woman of the Year and Business of the Year. Other award categories for the night are: Hermiston Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, Altrusa Young Citizen Award, Mayor’s Award, Educator of the Year, Hermiston Police Person of the Year and Firefighter/EMT of the Year. These winners will be selected within their own organization.
CAREER EXPO

The Hermiston Chamber and Blue Mtn Community College team up every year at the Hermiston Conference Center, for this Career Expo. This event exhibits local vendors, diverse industries, career related education centers and employment centers. Throughout the event, workshops are offered covering various topics related to “the art of looking for a job”. Other topics covered may range from writing an impressive resume to starting your own business. We have many local businesses on-site to offer feedback, hints, tips and much more essential information. Benefiting most from the Career Expo are businesses who are currently hiring or looking for trainees, attendees who are searching for training and employment opportunities and those looking to change career paths or to broaden their education. PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANT'S DAY LUNCHEON

Show your staff just how much you appreciate what they do at the Professional Assistant's Day Luncheon. The luncheon features a keynote speaker, fun entertainment and door prizes. Businesses are also able to nominate office personnel for the 2012 Professional Assistant of the Year, who is crowned at the luncheon. Because we take pride in recognizing all of the assistants out there, each attendee leaves with a special gift!
HERMISTON FAMILY FUNFEST

Join us for Hermiston's Funfest, held annually on the second weekend of July. The fun-filled event takes place on Main Street and McKenzie Park. The festival includes children's activities, a teddy bear parade, lawn mower drag races, OMSI Exhibits, a breakfast by Rotary, 5k/10k walk and run, vendor booths, and live music from local entertainers. The Hermiston Classic Car Club has their annual show at McKenzie park.
If that's not enough, stop by The Purple Lavendar Ridge Festival and experience beautiful display of lavendar fields, art, wine tasting and music. A shuttle will be available to take people to and from the downtown area to the Lavendar Festival.
COLUMBIA RIVER POWER MARATHON

FOLLOW THE MARATHON ON FACEBOOK!
The Columbia River Power Marathon has grown into a four event fitness festival for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities: 8K Walk/Run, Half Marathon Walk/Run, Marathon, and Marathon Relay. From the start in Umatilla, participants descend to the waterfront and traverse the Columbia River to Washington via McNary Dam. This is the only time each year that the dam is open to the public. This race is a powerful experience from the surging waters of the might Columbia to the peaceful voice of the desert vista.

It’s not just any wine festival, this is the event you’ve been waiting for! The Hermiston Conference Center is transformed to host live entertainment, food, a no host bar, and of course wine and beer tasting by some of the best wineries and breweries around.
Please consider joining us in putting on an event that will support the Greater Hermiston Chamber of Commerce’s continued efforts. The money raised by this event goes towards Chamber programs that benefit community projects. The Chamber also strives to create and promote an environment in which current and future businesses thrive and where our members connect for the benefit of the community.
FARM FAIR AG & TRADESHOW
Wednesday through Friday - Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, 2011
Farm Fair is Hermiston's annual agriculture tradeshow. Farm Fair brings in vendors from all over the Pacific Northwest to present innovative ag products and services both inside and outside the Hermiston Conference Center. Ag-related seminars are offered all three days for continuing education credits.
