NEW! Just 15 months after opening its distribution center at the Port of Umatilla, COLO Logistics has run out of room. The company, which distributes dairy products such as powdered milk and whey, broke ground July 6 on a 55,000-square-foot building. It employs five people and plans to add three more. NEW! On the November 4, 2008 general election the Hermiston Community approved a $69.9 Million general obligation bond for school construction and renovation.  Replacing three of the District’s most aged schools (Armand Larive Middle School, Sunset Elementary School, and West Park Elementary School) and provide upgrades to other campuses.    The intent is to replace all three schools and be open for students Fall of 2011.  For more information on the construction progress contact the Hermiston School District at http://www.hermiston.k12.or.us/growth
